Vesting in Investing

By Kristin Abouelata, Home Loan Specialist With a proliferation of property and extremely low interest rates, now is a great time to purchase investment property.  What should you know? There’s been buzz lately that now is the time to put your money in real estate, if you have it floating around and know what to do.  And if you and your investment property fit into the secondary market bucket, you can amortize your loan over 30 years, setting…See More

Stealing YOUR identity

Anyone that’s refinanced their home recently comments on the amount of information that has to be collected, documented, verified and re-verified this go around. There’s been some changes in the industry, to say the least. The amount of information you must divulge to your lender could sink you financially if it were to get into the wrong hands. That’s really kind of scary when you ponder it a bit. I mean, after all, we have your social security number, your birth date, your bank account…See More

Interest Rates-Why Your Rate Stinks and Your Neighbor's Doesn't

Here's the latest article I've posted "officially". I get asked all the time why you don't get the rate you see advertised....sheesh! I hate ads!!!In the old days, you used to be able to call an lender, give them a note amount and term, and get a quote. Lickety splickety. Not a lot of questions. Just “bam”, there’s your answer. It certainly made interest rate comparison much easier. But in today’s mortgage lending world, it’s just not that easy.In fact, say you’re selling a house for the same…See More

Back to School

Back to school time. I always feel overwhelmed this time of year. I know I should wait till tax free weekend to buy all my kids' school supplies, but the "list check-er off-er" in me struggles with the temptation to get it done. Couple all this with the fact that my daughter and I will be out of town for the week before, and I am a mess about it all. But it will work out, it always does.

I Suck at Blogging

Ok, so I suck at blogging. I'm am inconsistent as all get out. I know that makes my blog site rather boring because how many times does one have to visit it to get any interesting tidbit from it? I know that I stink at it, and I know it takes only a minimum amount of effort to get better at it. And admittedly, it's pretty easy for me to crank out a blog post. I write an article for the News Sentinel once a week and can just spit it out in a matter of minutes. So a little blurb here and there…See More
